1. Different sounding principles
Electric guitar is an electro-acoustic musical instrument, and its sound depends on the vibration of the strings to cut the magnetic lines of force to generate a current signal; the acoustic guitar is an acoustic instrument, and its sound depends on the vibration of the strings to cause the box to resonate.
2. Different structure and shape
The shape and color of the electric guitar are changeable, and the structure is more than that of the folk guitar, such as pickups, volume buttons, dial switches, knobs, tone switches and other devices.
3. Different tones
The electric guitar must be connected to the speaker to produce sound. If the speaker is not plugged in, almost only one can hear it. After the electric guitar is connected to the effector, the sound played is rough and metallic, and the original sound of the electric guitar is the sound of the folk guitar.
4. Different fingering
Although both electric guitars and folk guitars can be fingerpicked and picked, folk guitars are mostly fingerpicked, while electric guitars are mostly played with picks.
5. Different styles of repertoire
The strings of electric guitars are softer than those of folk guitars. Folk guitars are suitable for self-playing and self-singing. If the electric guitar is accompanied by voice changing, it is generally difficult to play and sing by itself, except for some monotonous accompaniment songs.
